A Little Bit Broken

On Monday Kaleb fell at recess and put his hands down to catch himself. He said it really hurt his wrist and for 3 days, every time we would touch his arm, he would cry or holler that it hurt. Since we are leaving to go to Caldwell this weekend, I thought we better get it checked out. So today I took him to Redi-Care and when they took the x-rays, they found he had a buckle fracture. They usually treat them with a splint, but they didn't have one small enough for Kaleb's arm. So they had to fashion one out of 3 or 4 different things they found in the supply closet! ;) In 2 weeks, we'll go back to see if it has healed or if they will have to put a hard cast on it. I'm glad we found out what was wrong, but now the fun is going to be keeping this "soft cast" / splint / brace thing clean and dry for 2 weeks. Not only are we going to Caldwell/Boise for the long weekend, Kaleb also has his school field trip, outside field day, and all the other things that come with school ending and summer beginning! He was pretty nervous about going into the Dr. because he thought he would have to get a shot. But now he's so excited to go to school and show his friends!!



When people ask him if he broke his arm, he says, "No, it's just a little bit broken." {Jaime - I guess I jinxed us by the comment I left on your blog about hoping this little boy accident trend didn't come in three's! Since we're #3, it should stop with us, right?!}



Not to be out-done, Cambree asked the nurse if she could have some pink wrap. Not only did the nurse give her a roll of pink wrap, she gave her all the other white stuff to go under the wrap too! As soon as we got home, she had her Dad wrap up her wrist too!

7 MONTHS OLD

Our Little I-Man is officially 7 months old as of Monday, May 18th. He is getting really good at rolling over, sitting up, putting weight on his arms, and now scooting backwards.



We have learned that if we have Isaac tuck the kids in at night, they will run to their beds to see who gets tucked in first by their little brother. This little trick makes bedtime so much easier!



Here he is with his cute little spikey hair. Aunt Mandy has already had to give him 3 hair cuts because his hair on top grows so fast!! His hair is the envy of all the little bald girl babies {and their Moms} at church!





We got this little mesh feeder for a gift when Isaac was born, so we've been trying it out. In this picture he has frozen blueberries and raspberries in it. We have also given him strawberries, corn, cooked carrots, green beans, and Chicken and Wild Rice Soup in it. He sucks on it until he gets all the juice out of whatever is in the mesh!



He loves to eat, go outside, play with the kids {especially Kaleb} and jump! He has been such a good baby - we couldn't ask for any better!

SON IN THE SUN

Does this boy look like he's ready for some SUN? He put on his shorts so he could go play outside because it looked so nice when he checked the weather by looking out the window! But when he got outside, there was such a cool wind blowing, he came back inside. He pulled his chair over by the window so he could sit in the warm sun that was coming in through the window. He eventually ended up laying in the sun and then fell asleep! I thought it was cute (until bedtime came around and because he had taken a nap, he didn't want to go to sleep until about 11pm!) ;)

[In the window sill, Kaleb has a green bean plant growing in a cup that he planted at school. He is SO PROUD of that little plant, but he LOVES {and waters} it a little too much! I hope it lives when we transplant it!]

It's Fun to Clean Up Toys!

Kaleb can make Isaac laugh better than anyone else. Isaac must have thought it was so funny to see Kaleb actually putting toys into the toy box without being told! HA! He was laughing harder when this "game" started, but my camera wasn't cooperating so I missed the better laughs!

The Boy Next Door

Cambree has a little friend that lives next door. His name is Royce. Cambree is constantly asking if she can go to his house. His Mom told me that he asks her if he can come to our house. But so far, it's never been quite the right time. Either, we are getting ready to go somewhere, or the weather's really cold and rainy, so they can't play outside. Anyway, Royce and Cambree have figured out a way. Twice now they have met in the middle of the hay field between our two houses. When I went outside to check on her the other day, this is what I found:




It was so cute I had to run inside to get my camera. I tried to zoom in as much as I could and they don't even know I took the pictures. She told me later that she and Royce had tasted the hay leaves. I wish the weather would warm up so these two can finally get together to play!

5 Months Old

I've been trying to post things other than pictures of my kids, so now that I've done several posts without them, I feel like I need to play catch up!

Isaac turned 5 months old on the 18th.




He is eating baby cereal well, is rolling over from belly to back, and is growing like crazy.





As Uncle Chad says, he has "thunder thighs." He loves to give big squeezy, pinchy hugs and slobbery kisses (just ask Angie - she got treated to several while they visited over the weekend.) He even tried to suck on Chad's bald head! (Oh and by the way, Angie and Chad found out today that they are getting a BOY!) They will be AMAZING parents!!



Kaleb and Cambree have decided to try changing his diaper once in a while. But if it's anything more than wet, they let us take over!

Whew...now I feel like I'm caught up in the blogging world. Now if only I can get caught up at my house! ;) I'm sure it would help if I would GET OFF THE COMPUTER!! LOL!
